Default What airport services Williamsburg, VA?

and how far is it from the center of the town/city? Also, where is the train station (Amtrak) located. Specifically, we are staying in the Marriott Williamsburg and looking at alternate options other than driving. Thank you.

the closest major airport is Norfolk International. Perhaps one of the DC airport could serve your needs but Norfolk is much closer.Train stations... hmm, the only one I know of for sure is in downtown Norfolk, but I think it stops in Williamsburg. You might want to check with your hotel for info on that.

You can take a cab from Newport News Airport or Norfolk to Williamsburg. Newport News is a lot closer to Williamsburg than Norfolk and you can check out the taxi rates online. Check to see how far your hotel is from the visitor center with the buses into historical Williamsburg. We usually stay at the Woodlands which is next door to the visitor center and we just walk next door and catch the bus.

Actually, I prefer Richmond over Norfolk. The distance to the Richmond is only one mile more than to Norfolk, they're both about 45 miles away. The drive to Richmond is MUCH easier. You're much more likely to encounter bad traffic going to Norfolk. It's also not much fun to drive in bad weather to/from Norfolk, as you have to cross a long bridge. The drive to Richmond is just straight, no bridges or anything, and the traffic is usually better. There's also the Newport News/Williamsburg airport. It's a smaller airport, but it's only 18 miles out of Williamsburg. I've been in it once, and I really don't remember it, but personally I've always preferred the smaller airports over the big ones when you can get a flight at a reasonable price. The train station is located at 468 North Boundary Street. It's at a convenient, easy to get to location so you should have no problem with that. It's located 4 miles from your hotel.
