Default Has anyone ever stayed in the Drake Hotel in Toronto?

I see advertisements for the Drake Hotel on Air Canada flights - everyone reading this that has ever flown overseas has seen the 1/2 hr long documentary advertisement for the boutique hotel located on Queen Street / Queen and Beaconsfield - and wondered ... hmmm

What would it be like to stay in that place? Did you know that in 1995 the Drake Hotel (it was closed at the time) was almost torn down - there were plans for a community center to revitalize the area (west of the Great Hall to Dufferin St). After the Dominion Tavern on Queen East at Sumach , and the Duke of York at Queen and Leslie , the Drake hotel was perhaps the WORST HOTEL IN THE ENTIRE CITY! And look what a transformation - it has spiked real estate values far more than a community center ever could...

But what would it be like to actually spend the night there?
