Default Getting a good map before starting a road trip

Before I go to some place which I've never been before, usually I will purchase a map to guide me. However, most of the time it is quite confusing using the map. Best is have a compass with you as well and if there's no other option, then have to stop and ask somebody.

Its nice to have a guide maps with us, when we are away for some new places. These are not a really bad idea to have map, instead of stopping and asking the strangers and it gives a suitable option for the travelers too.

Guide Map is an option for me. I like to travel on my own, asking the local folks, adventure is main virtue when I travel.

I intend to buy one someday. The cheapest around which I found is something like $100 a unit offered by Garmin International. Anybody has any experience about using this? How's the accuracy like?
