Probably Queens...or do you mean district within Manhattan? and if you're searching for hotel rooms, shouldn't you be telling *us* what comes up the cheapest?

out of the 3 you mentioned, i would definitely stay on the upper west side. i think chelsea and soho are too trendy, too loud, and likely too expensive.the upper west side isn't "cheap", but it is quieter, where families live, where the best food shopping is, and where some of the city's top cultural institutions are concentrated. it's a real classic new york neighborhood.but while you're in town, don't neglect to check out our "outer boroughs", no matter where you end up staying!
