Ok, I posted a question earlier about NYC, and I think with alot of help, Im staying in NYC.Now, who has the better packages....Expedia,Orbitz, or hotels.com.Ive also heard its sometimes cheaper to book my airplane tickets through the carrier rather than through a travel agency.Any answers would be great.Oh yeah, feel free to mention any nice hotels that are clean and affortable.(150.00- 220.00 a night is acceptable in NYC)

some sites that are good:www.airconsolidators.com (cheaper flights)www.priceline.com (name your own price..i just recently booked a $200 a night hotel for $85 in san diego...Hyatt)I would check Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline...etc, then compare it to a major carrier. Sometimes (I" ve heard) they will price match, at least you can see what kind of deal you're getting. Most of those travel sites charges a hefty fee, so sometimes you get a better deal just booking through the carrier direct.

Travelzoo.com and lastminute.com have the best prices. lastminute.com (was site59.com) is for "last minute" travel - I think you book about a week in advance, but you can get some really good deals.
