Where could I find a nice, but cheap hotel in New York City for New Years?

You probably won't, but try going to Hotwire or Priceline.com, they can help you get a cheap hotel, just don't know how close it will be to the city. NY is probably already sold out for the New Years. You have to start early!

Nothing in New York City can exactly be considerd cheap, but it all depends on where you want to be staying in the city.

Try New York Inn. they are located on 8th ave and 47th street, about one block from Times Square. Their rate is $169 + tax per night. its a budget hotel so don't expect too much. www.nyinnmanhattan.com

Finding a room for New Year's Eve is going to be difficult, but my favorite inexpensive place is the Hotel Carter. Their rooms are famously $99, which is VERY cheap for NYC, and they're right in the heart of New Year's action: Times Square.Good luck, and enjoy your trip!Kango Traveler
