There are some realy cheep and sleezy places all over the city even cheeper than $50.00. You might want to consider one of the Motel 6 or 8 types out side the city like in Camarillo, Santa Clarita or the Valley.

Do not go to the cheapest hotels in LA. That can kill you. I do not know what part of L.A. you are going to be in, but Motel 6 is dependable and always under $100 a night.
