Default how far is it from Salem, Oregon to Los Angeles, California by car and airplane?

im interesting in visiting salem, oregon from los angeles california, but i would like to know how far is it by car and airplane? because in a few weeks i would like to visit there for summer vacation.. 2 weeks vacation actually... oh and is it really cheap over there? like gas prices, sales taxes, etc... if so, or if not, could you tell me more detail about it? thanksps: any hotel you reccomended in salem, oregon?

IT TAKES A FEW DAYS BECAUSE YOU WANT TO SLEEP AND EAT, PLEASE HAVE A CELL AND BE CAREFUL. KEEP ESTRA GAS IN A GAS CAN AND KEEP DOORS LOCKED! bEARS ARE NOT THE THREAT ,HUMANS ARE THE THREAT! kEEP A GUN FOR PROTECTION OR AT LEAST A TASER ! i AM SERIOUS AND JUST GIVING GOOD ADVICE! HAVE FUN AND BE CAREFUL. kEEP PROTECTION BECAUSE THERE ARE WEIRDOS AND i WANT YOU TO HAVE A NICE TIME, BE CAREFUL AND STAY AT POPULATED PLACES. THERE WILL BE LONELY AREAS AND THE INDIANS ARE NICE FOLKS SOME MAY SHARE A FEW BEERS AND SOME ARE DRY, BUT THEY ARE GOOD FOLKS
