Default Where is a fun, cheap, and not too far from where i live, weekend getaway?

I live in Southern California about 45 minutes from Los Angeles. I want to get away with my boyfriend for a weekend before the summer is over. I dont want to travel more than 4 hours, we dont want to go to vegas or laughlin because we are trying to make it cheap as possible but yet we want to have fun and have together time. Please be as detailed as possible i need prices and directions (okay maybe not directions but the names of the places) even hotel information, I do have AAA so i know they offer discounts but any ideas would be great!

- Santa Barbara - you can tour the wine vineyards and there are also a lot of outdoor activities- San Diego - good city to check out if you've never been

Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Cambria..all along the coast and about 4 hours away. Lots of people honeymoon in these areas. Or try Catalina island...just an hour boat ride from Long Beach. http://www.morro-bay.net/http://www.ecatalina.com/
