Default We will be in downtown Chicago during 12/29-31. Are there cheaper options to hotel valet parking?

Our stay Saturday afternoon to Monday noon jut before New Years day. I would prefer in-out privileges.

no other parking places offer in/out daily service and will charge you an hourly rate. It depends on how many times you will be driving to different places. I'd suggest instead of driving to use public transportation to your destinations, if your hotel is on michigan ave, buses will easily take you to the mag mile and back. drive your car down, park it, and don't use it till you go home, in which case use the hotel valet service as it is probably cheaper than public parking rates which run 20-25 bucks a day.

Park west of Halsted St. and take a taxi or bus to your hotel. The area around Greektown has inexpensive parking.

Parking costs in the loop are ridiculous. Seriously, I agree with the other two answers. If you don't have to park in Chicago...DON'T. I had to do business at the county building the other day and it set me back $28 for an hour and a half! I get to let the client pay it as a reimbursible...the next time I went I took the trains (CTA).If you are driving to the city one of the best places you can leave your car is at the CTA park and ride at Cumberland and the Kennedy (I-90) near O'Hare, and take the blue line in. Busses will get you anywhere. And they have free trolleys to get you to the tourist areas, museums, Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue. And right now the Wendella Boat Taxis are free thanks to Gannie Mae (and free samples!)If you want to rent a car consider using I-Go cars, hybrids you can rent by the hour. If you need a car and you need it near your hotel, you'll pay for it. The rant Park Garages might be 'cheaper' but they have upped their rates since their renovations, too,

Everyone that says "don't drive" is right. Find cheaper parking outside of the city, and take a cab downtown. Don't drive downtown. Seriously. Everytime you move your car you will be unpleasantly surprised at how impossible and how expensive it is to park. Unless you have some really good reason to absolutely need a car, such as lots of luggage or wheelchair needs, you'll be much better off without one downtown.
