Default Disneyworld in June 2008, how far ahead should I book hotel and airline?

I want to go to Disneyworld in Florida next year and just wanted to know when should I book this. There'll be 2 children going too, ages 4 and 7. Good, child friendly hotels? Would it be cheaper to stay in the Disney resort or outside of it? I'd like to hear about your experiences? Is June a good time to go? I'm picking this time because my grand-daughter will be out of school and I don't want to go in April, too many other people do and I figured maybe it'd be off-season?

Off season in Disney is September through November, and January through March. They take reservations at least a year, maybe a year and a half in advance, and I'd recommend making reservations as soon as possible, because even if rates go up, you still have your original prices. Especially for park tickets, they go up a few bucks every year. It's much cheaper to stay at a hotel outside of Disney world - but I think it would be more fun to stay there. They have campground options that are pretty inexpensive, and you can get a budget hotel room for around $90 a night, you can actually go to the website and compare prices for the on-Disney hotels, and some of the moderately expensive hotels ($160/night) are attractive and have water parks and shuttles.Off-Disney hotels may offer a shuttle to the parks, but you won't get the extra early hours you get if you stay there. But staying outside of Disney means you eat outside of Disney too, which WILL save you money too, since food is so expensive. June will still be busy, and hot, but not quite so bad as July or August. I've been in the mid summer and it was brutally hot and humid, but STILL sooooo much fun! Oh, and bring a few rain ponchos with you- Florida weather is unpredictable. Just check out the Disney site for good price comparisons. I never stayed at Disney world, but always really wanted to, and I bet it would be a blast. I hope you have a great time, and good luck!

it will be cheaper to stay outside unless u stay at the allstar resorts but if u have the money the moderate and deluxe resorts r much better and its so much easier to stay inside disney pretty much any resort at disneys gonna be kid friendly and good and no june is not off season pretty much any school break time is on season

Let me just say you are gonna have a blast. There is a web site waltdisneyworld.com. You can order a vacation planning kit that will help you. My personal opinion, although hotels may be cheaper outside of Disney, staying on property is definitely a great experience. My family owns time share in WDW. By staying on property you have bus transportation to all the parks for no fee, and ALL Disney Hotels are child friendly. It may be a little pricey but now they have packages. You really should look into it, but I would definitely book at least 6-12 mos ahead as far as hotels go. June is gonna be a pretty warm time to go. Also you may want to pay attention to the weather. It seems to rain around the same time everyday so we usually plan our meals around the weather. It doesn't rain for long though so don't cut your visit to the parks short because of weather. There is so much to do and so many things I could tell you about. Just know that you really can't do it wrong at the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!!!!
