Default Going to Disney cheaper??

We would like to take a vacation to Orlando, getting there and hotels are no problem it's the price of tickets to Disney that's killing us. We are a family of 6 (Mom,Dad a 20 yo and 3 teens.) How can we better afford going to Disney World? We'd like to spend 3 days there and then do other things in Orlando. Any suggestions for me??

My wife and I have just spent a while looking online at this for our family. The fact is, it IS going to kill you. You'll save a little money if you purchase packages, you pretty much need to do at least three days to save any money at all, but you don't save much unless you spend at least a week there. They don't really sell discount tickets and there's a good chance that if you do find a great deal on some that they're fake. You can find package deals online but with six people and three days, you're probably looking at around a grand just for admission etc.

When you get to Orlando there are several timeshares that will give you $50 or two tickets to a park just for going and seeing their timeshares. I know your like "oh i don't want to do that", but i did it when i was in Orlando last summer. It took all of about 2 hours and i got $50 and didn't buy anything...

Tickets are high, but you can get cheaper prices by doing one of those timeshare things. A lot of people will say no to this, but my husband and I did it once. We spent an hour with a salesperson and we got a hotel for $25 a night (Holiday Inn) and we also got $100 when we finished. Other programs will give you tickets for $10 if you do this. We knew darn well we weren't going to buy a timeshare and probably 80% of the people who participate don't buy either. But it's a fast thing to do to get that discount you're looking for. Another option would be to get a park hopper pass. This might be better suited for you if you don't want to do the timeshare thing.

Well there are lots of things you can do.First you can get a hotel at a discount, but in the end in all honesty you should look at getting a Family Suite at Disney's All Star Music Resort. With the complimentary transportaion to and from the airport (around $20.00 per person each way) and the complimentary Disney Transportation (you don't have to rent a car) it starts to add up.Those rooms do have fridges in them, microwaves so you could bring some food and make sandwhiches and what not as a way of cutting down costs. You could also save some money by buying tickets from an Authorized ticket reseller like http://www.OrlandoFunTickets.com I hope this helped.

Please steer clear of the timeshare "deals" that have been suggested by other answerers. They are not worth the time, effort and pain, especially since you end up wasting half a day for a 1-day ticket! If you haven't already done so, visit http://www.mousesavers.com/ -- the best money-saving site out there.Have a great trip!

Do you belong to AAA. They offer a decent discount to Disney. Im going in November and saved 15% on our resort stay(Port Orleans Riverside). The park passes are only a few dollars cheaper. There really isnt much room to bargain with Disney it seems. Also if you are staying on Disney property look into the meal plan. I never tried it but am going to this time. It seems like a great deal. We are only two but definately well worth it for a family. Good Luck!

The best savings I can suggest is that you do just one park per day which will save the cost of the "Park Hopper" option. That add-on is $45 per person, plus tax. For a family of six, you'll save $270, which is a significant chunk of change. This will mean doing only 3 of the 4 theme parks. My agency offers touring plan and itinerary help when you purchase your tickets and/or book your tickets through us.
