What would be the easiest way to get from Ft Lauderdale Airport to Miami Beach? From FLL airport ambassador: [Comments added by Matt]The option chosen most is our on site shuttle service, Tri-County Airport Express which runs shuttles directly from FLL to South Beach for only $18 per person. You may have a maximum of a thirty minute wait until the shuttle leaves and it may drop off about 9 other people along the way, but it is certainly the best option. A cab will run you about $70 and will fit up to four people. A private car (limousine) will run you ironically a few dollars less than $70 and will fit about the same amount of people. The Tri Rail service is also a good option if you're on a tight budget. [About $3.00 each way -- does not run after about 10:00 pm] ] However, you must keep in mind that you have to walk from the terminal far to the bus stop,[with baggage] wait 45 minutes or more for the shuttle to the Dania Beach Tri Rail station and then wait 30 minutes or longer for the Tri Rail. Once you're on the train, you have to take it South to the MetroRail transfer station. [in Miami] Then get on the MetroRail (another train) [$1.50 plus $.25 bus transfer] and then take that to the Government Center Station. [Downtown Miami] Once you're there you have to take a Miami Dade County Bus (MetroBus Route C or K) to the intersection of 5th and Washington where you then have to walk in the heat to your hotel or residence. [Actually Both C & K run North on Washington Ave. which will take you a lot closer.] [Give yourself at least three hours]Summary: Airport Express shared ride is the most convenient and economical and it will drop you off IN FRONT OF your hotel while you enjoy the A/C for only $18. Look for the white desks outside of each terminal labeled "Ground Transportation" and talk to the guy in the red and white shirt, or reserve online at www.floridalimo.com. |
